TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP

Becoming a member of BSB is not just becoming the member of a clan, its joining a community of online friends. To help with the efficient running of the Network, we must insist ALL our members and those who wish to join our network respect and abide by the conditions set out below;-

1. Abide by our online Codes of Conduct
Our members must behave in an appropriate way when online. The BSB Codes of Conduct can be found  here!

2. You should be in just ONE clan/guild - BSB!
All members are expected to represent BSB as their only clan. This is to avoid conflicts of interest and problems with game scheduling. It also reflects our status as a "Gaming Network". Once you have earned your BSB tags, you should be proud enough to wear them in all games to help promote our community. Given that we tend to switch games at the end of their life span and that we regularly hold gaming sessions on other games, it is imperative that members commit their online representation exclusively to BSB. Representing other clans after leaving BSB may also effect rejoining or a  "Honours" status, if achieved. See rule 12.

3. Wear your clan tags at ALL times
Correct name tags on all online and gaming accounts must be worn by all members at all times when online.
This is to help other members and gamers identify you as being a part of the BSB Network and to promote our community among other gamers. Under no circumstances are you to add any extra text, symbols or "leet" speak symbols to be used as they distort names, making them unclear to read. We feel our name tags represent good presentation in game, and should be thought of by our members as their uniform, therefore every effort should be made to ensure they are presentable when online. You will be asked to tidy your name or remove any symbols or "leet" tags if they are amended.

X-Fire Tags:

All members representing BSB on X-fire they must have their display name set in the following format:-

[BSB] Yourname [Rank]

E.g.  [BSB] Box [C1]

Other GameTags:
When playing any other online games please use the [BSB] or BSB_ tag, whichever is most suitable in relation to the game, at the beginning of your username. Check with the clan leaders if you are unsure.

4. You need to be active online regularly
All  members need to be online fairly regularly, and make every effort to attend our weekly gaming session held each Sunday evening 8pm onwards. Remaining active can be done in a number of ways;

 - checking the forum
 - playing online games
 - using X-fire
 - Using our TeamSpeak Server

Notice of any changes to membership activity, or extended periods of absence should be made via the Members board on the BSB Forum. Members are reviewed regularly and their category of membership category/rank can and will be changed in accordance to their recent online activity.

5. Members should use TeamSpeak & X-Fire applications when online
All members are expected to have and be actively using  X-Fire (download it here!) and Teamspeak (download it here!) communication packages.
BSB has it's own user group set up for X-Fire that all members must join here:- http://www.xfire.com/clans/thebsbnetwork/
We also have our own Teamspeak server for members to use for gaming and general chat. The address can be found on them main website. These applications make in game communications easier and mean joining members in game is much easier without disturbing them. If you cant use these applications please inform us as soon as possible,

6. No  cheating , hacking or glitching in games
BSB operates a zero tolerance policy in regard to cheating as cheaters can never be trusted. Under no circumstances what so ever is a member of BSB to install or use a cheat patch, for any online games, whilst representing this clan. This includes aim bots, reticule compressors, show enemies, extra/unlimited+ ammo mods or any other third part software to improve performance or scoring while in-game.  In addition to in-game performance enhancing cheats, members are not permitted the use of CD-Key generators or CD cracked versions of games.

Any member found to be in breach of these regulations will be instantly dismissed and permanently banned from BSB. This extends to any skins, graphics, reticule modifications, or in game glitching  that gives players an unfair advantage. Any form of stat padding an/or stat manipulation will also be considered as cheating. There are more details on in-game codes of conduct here

7. Donations should be made if possible
While contributions towards our clan servers are not compulsorily, members should realise that our servers do cost money. Any member wishing to join BSB should seriously considerer if they are prepared to ever make a contribution towards running our games. It is requested that all members should try and donate some funds, if possible, when required.

8. Respect the Chain Of Command
BSB has different ranks and membership classes (see the Ranks page for details) to assist with the efficient management and general running of the clan. Each and every member of BSB must respect the clan chain of command. If a request is made to you by a more senior member in game, please respect the instruction by doing as requested. Our Chain of Command is based  on a combination of time served with BSB an individual members' personal attributes and their over-all commitment to BSB.

9. Only select members are eligible for official participation in clan wars, external tournaments, scrims & ladder play
Unless otherwise stated, only BSB's clan war team, the Tactical Match Team (TMT),  may represent BSB in any official clan war or external clan ladder. The TMT is selected at regular intervals throughout the year usually each calendar month), depending upon the level of activity of clan on ladders etc. Full details of our TMT can be found on the TMT page of the website.

10. No using multiple gaming accounts
Please use just ONE gaming account per game. There are multiple reasons we request our members to do this including the prevention of hacking, abuse and breach of Codes of Conduct. It also means members are wearing correct tags are all times and also means no member takes up multiple slots on the clan in game roster (which is limited).

11. Inform us if you want to leave or retire
If you have decided you would like to leave BSB (for whatever reason) you must inform us of your decision to quit as soon as possible, via the members board of the forum (or via Personal Message to the Clan Leader(s)). Those who do inform us will be listed as "retired", in some cases depending upon time served and over all contribution to the clan "Honours" status will be applied, meaning you are welcome to return to our clan anytime in the future and your membership records will be frozen and kept for such a time. Some members may also be entitled to 'Mentioned in Dispatches". For full details of the benefits of these status', please refer to our 'Hall Of Fame' page.

NOTE: Any member who simply disappears without warning may not be eligible to rejoin BSB in the future.
12. 'Honours' & 'Mentioned in Dispatches'
Members who have served BSB well but have decide to retire are eligible for "Honours" status - which is effectively life long membership of BSB without any commitment requirements other than abiding by the codes of conduct and committing their loyalty to BSB. This entitles members who have obtained this accolade to keep their [BSB] tags and resume their membership actively at any point in the future without serving any probationary period. All honours, ranks and awards earned will also be re-instated. Some members who retire that do not meet the requirements for 'Honours' membership/status, may be eligible  for a "Mentioned in Dispatches" [MID] status.

However, if a member who has obtained 'Honours' (displayed as [H]) status, then applies and/or joins another gaming clan/guild/network/community, they will have their tags & [H] status revoked and will not be entitled to rejoin without re-applying. Also all honours and awards may be reset if re-application is successful.

More details about 'Honours' can be found on our 'Hall of Fame' page on the site.
